Actively deceiving or withholding the truth in attempt to be more acceptable. - Problematic Porn Use
Recurring retreat to fantasy to self sooth pain or provide emotional regulation. - People Pleasing
Seeking approval and trying to get value from others often at the expense of one’s own needs. - Lack of Healthy Self Care
Taking care of ourselves by overeating, drinking, or being lazy, etc. - Procrastination
Avoiding things in life as a way to escape failure or delaying doing “hard things.” - Revenge Bedtime Procrastination (報復性熬夜 … bàofùxìng áoyè)
Staying up late to regain a sense of freedom we lack in our daytime lives. - Blow-ups
Getting angry or overreacting due to ongoing resentments and avoiding conflict. - Doom-scrolling news
Trying to get a sense of control though being informed. But we keep scrolling and get lost. - Escapism
Ignoring our needs or pain through distraction and escape. Gaming, binge-watching.
